FAQ Costs & Pricing

Question: Do you charge for an estimate?

Answer: No. Your first consultation with Web People Media for site design is free. Estimates for specific fixed projects are also free.

Repeated requests for estimates on the same project in new configurations will be handled on a case-by-case basis. In all cases, we want you to succeed with your project.

Please note that Web People Media does not give fixed quotes on a project basis. Site development, graphics, and digital media needs can be highly variable, and although we do try to give estimates that accurately reflect the amount of work we think your project will need, clients often think of more features to add along the way, or need variable amounts of training to work with their new sites.

Question: How much does a website cost?

Answer: There is no single answer to this question. Your total cost will depend on the size and complexity of the project, the amount of graphics, programming, and additional functionality, such as Flash animation, video, e-commerce, etc., you need to reach your visitors, how much finished content you are able to provide, etc. If you have a fixed budget, be sure to mention that early in our conversations, so we can work with you to achieve the results you desire, while remaining under budget. If you have a small budget, consider starting with a modest project, and creating your own finished content as much as possible, at least until your site begins generating money for you and you can plan the next phase.

Question: What are your hourly rates?

Answer: We do formulate estimates based on standard hourly design, production, and development rates; however, because of the nature of project development, all sites are estimated on a per-project basis.

Question: What are your payment terms?

Answer: All projects start with a one-third down payment and all invoices are net 15 days. Larger projects that may stretch over more than 2-3 months may have their payments broken up further. The second third is due upon completion of initial prototypes, and final payment is due before the site is launched publicly. Payment terms for non-website projects are similar.

Question: What forms of payment do you accept?

Answer: We accept PayPal, checks, and cash.
